I accuracy tested some Patched Roundball this morning in my Old STOCK 1:48 Twist .54 Cal TC Renegade, She did awesome These Old Stock 48 Twist Rifles are VERY Capable, they just need the Right components, and a Capable Shooter

My last 3 Shot Group, This was a NO GO Same 80 Grains of Swiss 2F, Same .530 Balls, This time i used STORE BOUGHT .015 Ox-Yoke Patches, They were nice to Load, But accuracy was no good, at least for me. It is amazing how much difference there is in accuracy here, Little things can mean a LOT

Great video, I'm a little puzzled about the over powder patch, how is it now wadded up when you seat the prb. What am I missing here? In your video it looks like they wrapped around the second patch. Hope this makes sense.

I get similar results with mine at 50 yards using 70gr of 3f. That thing shoots as well as i can hold it.

We are close, i am about 45 Minutes, maybe an Hour from Clarkfork

We have a 25 acre fruit farm in the area, with a basic 100 yard shooting range set up, so it makes practice easier.

You mentioned an 1/8” over powder feltwad in one.
All I found is those prelubed oxyoke deals.
Do you cut your own?

What they said, go to a JoAnnes or somewhere like that with a c-mic or calipers and do some measuring.
You want 100% cotton, no blends. I use patch material in the .018" range, I can usually find some blue stripe pillow ticking that will meet that requirement.
Pocket drill is often a bit thicker, closer to .020". You want something like pocket drill or pillow ticking since they have a tight weave, so not just any 100% cotton material is necessarily good for patches.
In my experience when using calipers, the sizing starch on the material will make it measure a couple thousandths thicker than what it'll actually be once it is removed if you apply some decent compression to the calipers when measuring.
So, the sizing starch. You want to remove it. It takes very hot water to get it out, and sometimes I have to put it through the washing machine twice before I get it all out. I do not bother adding soap to the Washer. The material has to be washed on gentle cycle and in a delicates bag or else it will fray/unravel something fierce.
You can tell by feel when it is all out, with the starch in it the material feels quite a bit stiffer than without. Often after the first wash I can feel parts of the material that it is gone, but other sections still have it.
