Stoy,
My T/C manual lists 90 grains of FFG up to 120 grains which is the max (that is for a 430-435gr Maxi-Ball & Maxi-Hunter loads. You can call T/C and they will send you a manual at no charge. Good luck with your Renagade!

Welcome! You chose an excellent caliber. Don't pass up trying round balls. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to shoot and easier on your shoulder. A .530 round ball is very effective on deer and elk. Good luck and have fun with your new rifle  .

Don't forget TC made their barrels for max-balls, that is why their barrels have shallow riflings(.o6-.07). They later came out with roundball barrels. The shallow riflings were so the maxie could expand into them. If you do shot RBs don't overload them till you find what your gun likes. I shot 110grs 2ff for mazis in my .54 and 45grs 2ff for RB. In my .50 I used 90grs 2ff with max-hunter. Never shot a RB in it todate. Dilly

when I bought my T.C.Hawkin in 72 it came with a round ball mold---so they were also rifled for the round ball---

I am just thinking that once you get a round ball load working for you, you will shoot nothing else. I have a TC fast twist made for conicals, and it shoots them well, but I can shoot a lot more, cheaper, with balls. Took a little while to figure out a load, but I am hooked. My conicals are at the bottom of my box and have been there for awhile now.
