Yes. You can find a T/C Renegade Flinter, .54 caliber, at Fox Ridge Outfitters, T/C Custom Shop. $419.95. 1-800-343-4570.

If you want a new one, As far as I know, the T/C Custom Shop is it. There may be some used ones out there on the different gun auctions, but a .54 Renegade Flinter was not offered, other than the T/C Custom Shop, as far as I know. I looked in some of my older T/C catalogs, and all Renegade flinters were .50 caliber. If you have a .50 Renegade Flinter now, you could purchase the .54 Renegade barrel, again, from the Custom Shop. They are both 1" across the flats, and are interchangeable.

Thanks everyone for the information.
Well I came accross a 54 Renegade in a gun store today. I don't think it a kit gun since the serial # doesn't start with a K. All the books
I look in said the the Renegade was made in only
a caplock. The serial number was 52xxx and it had an old model lock on it. The barrel look like it never been shoot but the stock have some ding and scraps in it (Look like from storage). The barrel length is 27 in. The wood isn't something
that I would guess came out of the costum shop.

FYI...some clarification:

1) TC did/does make a Renegade Flintlock...and you can order them through various BP suppliers, or buy them directly from TC's Fox Ridge Outfitter store. If/when you order a new one, you can specify the 1:48" or 1"66" barrel, both caplock and Flintlock.

2) Also, TC's Fox Ridge Outfitter store has a "custom shop" as part of it's operation, yes, but to think of Fox Ridge as a "custom shop" in total is misleading...they do custom work on various lines like the Contender and Encore series, but they do not do 'custom work' on other things like muzzleloaders.

About 20 years ago I bought a TC Renegade flint, 54 caliber, used from a guy as a present for my dad. Factory all the way. Got it back when my dad retired to Florida, and now my son shoots it. It has the shorter Renegade barrel, so it was not removed from a Hawken. I recently had to replace the rear site and the one TC sent me did not fit....different hole spacing. This barrel is so old that they were drilling the site holes differently.

I've got an old style 15/16" .45cal hawken barrel like that...when I went to install the improved rear sight on it I ran into that too...hole spacing on the improved sight base is wider...ended up only using one screw with some loc-tiie...the overhanging edges fit snug enough on the edges of the flats that it's done fine for several years now...and I can understand how various engineering changes can happen like that over the years.

But...on a new GM .62cal smoothbore barrel I just got a couple weeks ago, when I had to temporarily remove the rear sight I found that it's base also had hole spacing wider than the holes GM had just drilled when they made the barrel in January...and it was only held on with a single screw too...the GM barrel was just made...wasn't a barrel made 20 years ago.

Only thing I can figure is that GM might still be using an automated drilling jig they bought a long time ago, but are now using a newer sight (like TC's)...really surprised that they're shipping new production barrels with rear sights only held on with a single screw...and it didn't have any loc-tite on it either...will call GM and see what I can find out

Is it possible that T/C made some limited runs of a .54 Renegade Flinter? I know that they have made some special runs of different models over the years that were not in the catalogs.

My father's renegade is a 54 cal. flint. It was factory production w/ a 1 in 48. I use it now

TC must have made a limited run that was released in PA. I have hunted PA with a muzzleloader for 25yrs and talking to some of the guys from hunting
camp they said they seen them show up every now and then by a guest at the camp. Seems like the only people that know of them are out of PA.

i bought one off my budddy a few years back for a 100 bucks he got it used about 10 years before used i figure its old the serial number starts with 15 . dose t/c still make parts  thinking about getting a new flash hole and frizzen or is there some place else i can look.

The Hawkens and Renegades were always TC's mainstream muzzleloader models...they just didn't build and maintain inventory levels of the Renegade Flintlocks like they did the Hawken...I always assumed it was a supply/demand/market forecast thing...but they were regular production models, not made as a 'special run', just lower volumes.
They did however, make special runs of "left handed" Renegade Flintlocks, but never any in the Hawken model...never understood that one
