I have recently purchased a Parker Hale 1861 .577 Enfield Artillery Model (about 20 inch barrel).
Your advise on an appropriate load would be appreciated. Further what projectiles are you using?
Advice to date has ranged from 60 grains of 2F to 95 graians of 2F.
I have been shooting 60 grains of 3F with Lyman Minies but the groups are poor.

Mate, if the skirt is fairly light try 55 grains of FFg black , if the skirt is heavier, about 75 grains of FFg black. PH rifles do sometimes need bedding at the breech end as they are not always well supported. I have always preferred FFg in both my two PH navy rifles and my original Pat 53. Lube 5 parts beeswax to 1 unsalted lard by volume. Works well in the warmer climate here in Western Australia

Cheers and good luck
