.58 cal lead free ammo

I have a .58 cal rifle and i have to use lead free ammo to hunt this year. since i cannot find any .58 cal lead free ammo could i use a .54 cal bullet patched?

If your in California, as I recall, they have a list of approved bullets defining the only ones that can be used.
I don't recall seeing anything for a .58 caliber rifle.
If the gun is a Rifled Musket, the rifling grooves will be very wide and shallow which can make the gun finicky about the types of bullets it will shoot accuretly.

Maybe you should PM Okie Hog and find out what he's tried. As you know, we don't talk openly on the forum about modern sabots and bullets with plastic parts in them on the forum.
