I just built a Jim Kibler Southern Mountain Rifle. It's 62" long. Can anyone recommend a gun sock or case long enough for this beauty? I can't find anything over 54".

A vendor had blanket cases at the Eastern Lonrifle Show. They were made from wool blankets and could have matched your Capote.;)

Don't know where you are but a fellow comes to the Ohio Gun Collectors show that has extra long padded sleeves.

The Unique cases are not traditional but the best soft cases on the market, I have several of them. Get one a little longer than you need, I bought one for my first flintlock close to the same length as the flintlock, the gun will fit in the case but I have to give it a hard push to get the zipper closed. On my next I bought one a few inches longer than my gun and the fit is perfect.

Jim sells a soft case that will take the SMR. I bought one when I bought my kit. Very high quality.

Watch out for the silicon treated ones - a old woodworker and restorer I knew said that the silicon can creep and cause issues with rubbed oil finishes etc.
