A year and a half ago GM made a special run of 48 Flint smoothbore barrels...1" x 33" .62cal drop-ins for the TC Hawken & Renegade.

They are down to their last 10...say there are no plans to make any more, and my Wife "somehow" got it in her head that one of these barrels would make a great Father's Day gift!

So they now have 9 left...if you want one, you "better git while the gittin's good !"

Our 40th is next month...not only do we know how each other thinks, I believe we're starting to look like each other :rotf:

Roundball,
I've got a number of TC's but they are all percussion. If I got a flint drop in barrel would I have to any more than get a TC flint lock?
Mark :)

It's not on their website, call them and speak to Owner Ed or Son Scott

I've converted a number of TC Hawken caplocks to Flint buy just buying a Flint barrel & Lock.

On some I've had to spend 20-30 minutes gently removing bits of wood here or there in the lock mortise so the Flint lock assembly will drop in all the way...

Excuse my naivety here...
After you convert them, can the perc and flintlock locks be swapped without issue? i.e. too much wood hasn't been removed for the perc lock to fit/work OK

The caplock stuff can be dropped right back in and used normally.

PS:
Remember...there are two different size TC Hawkens stocks.

The regular size stock is built to handle the 15/16" barrels of .45/.50 calibers.

The large size stock handles the bigger 1" barrels of .54/.58 calibers.

So you have to get the right size barrel for the size stock that you have...

Showed my wife this brilliant idea for a father's day gift. She said we are only in year 20 of marriage; I can have a Tedd Cash Tobacco box to keep all the loose stuff in. :rotf: :rotf: Well,... its better than socks :surrender: :surrender:

This ML forum I a cool place. Thanks for reminding me I had an account. Lucky I was still logged on. I hope to get me a smooth barrel. I am calling tommorrow and order one. Even f I do not have a gun to put it in. You said they caplock and flintlock right. I may try to find me a .62 hawken first thing in the morning then call GM. Did you get any crows this weekend. Hope you smoked a few.LOL See Ya,Mike

Went twice, only got one shot, and missed him!

You'll want to look for a .54cal Hawken...they use the 1" barrel, and that's what the GM .62cal is built on.

roundball,
I'm sure we all know by now that you are a big T/C
person. But as a side note I would like to add that the IBS barrels for the T/C Hawken also apply to the Investarms Hawkens with the exception of the under barrel rib.I have got all my IBS barrels directly from GM. Once I found out about the rib length situation, they have made it right. As long as GM treats me right, I will deal with them, even though they are owned by Knight :(
