Honestly, I've never patterned my gun at 40 yards. I have limited out every year I've ever hunted turkeys (maybe 17-18 years now) and have never had to shoot much farther than 25 yards. I've passed on many longer shots. But normally I have no trouble bringing one in to 15-25 yards.

Now I've killed doves, quail and pheasants at 40 yards...
