Sorry, having some problems posting. Yes, it's for sale. The rifle has a Moody 30" x 1 1/4 barrel, Forsyth rifling 1:104 twist. Deluxe Chambers Siler lock. The rifle had a percussion Siler when I bought it. It can be reconverted back to percussion with not alterations. The stock is plain maple with a dark aged finish. It has a few dings here and there, typical for a 30 year old hunting rifle. It comes with .710 roundball mould blocks. They take RCBS handles. The rifle weighs around 11 pounds and I anticipate shipping to be around $70.00. $1,025.00 plus actual shippingIs it for sale? If so, how much? Any info on it?
Give me a break, I'm trying to correct the problem.Nice. Are we playing The Price is Right?
The bore is good. Postal money order. The mould is an NEI, in fine shape. It takes RCBS handles. How is the bore on it Gemmer? What method of payment? Is the RCBS mold in good condition?
Well that was quick. Congrats to who ever got to their wallet faster!Rifle is sold pending funds.
Yeah, that gun is going to be a handful! Kinda glad you got to it before me.That would be me, that kind of rifle doesn't come around that often at that price. I'm looking forward to a bruised shoulder from that beast...
Just funnin' with ya! I do stuff like that a lot. Someone got a great deal on a real thumper if a rifle.Give me a break, I'm trying to correct the problem.
Let us know how it shoots. That would be me, that kind of rifle doesn't come around that often at that price. I'm looking forward to a bruised shoulder from that beast...
I will do that; those old Moody Forsyth barrels are said to be very accurate. Off the bench this rifle may have kill on both ends..Let us know how it shoots.
I've been looking at some loads for this rifle and what I saw is you can go up to 150 grs of 2ff safely, that will be brutal if I push it that far.Gun? All I see is a real nice kitchen with a big ol hunk a steel and dirty wood right smack dab in the middle of the real nice kitchen counter. My mind is yelling “Run! You’re in trouble, run!” My wife would go bonkers.
You've got an understanding woman there, Gemmer. And a quick sale, too. I too am intrigued at how hard this gun is gonna kick, because the 335-grain patched round balls in a .62 rifle I’m familiar with don’t leave home without letting the shooter know. A .72 rifle is getting up into the Sir Samuel Baker territory. And that real slow, shallow rifling is incredibly accurate. Hoo buddy, you’re gonna pay, Andy
