A “Fishy” Powder Measure

Made this “Fish” themed powder measure for a friend. It‘s made out of some sort of Maple I had lying around and holds 65gr of powder. It could be easy modified for less by adding a 3/8” dia plug inside. The eyes are Phillips screws with the centers drilled out and filed flat. A light coat of stain was applied over some scrimshaw lines to make them pop and I’ll apply some BLO once dry. These are quite fun little whimsical projects!

I like that . lots of fun but it should have been carved from Basswood , volume can be corrected by adding a ball of bees wax , pushed firmly to the bottom , until the correct volume is obtained
