It's Dixie Instant Antique Browning Solution (from DGW). I've been using it with great results, never fail. What was the browning solution you used. Looks like it left a nice finish.
Lucky me….its gonna be mine. Can’t waits to make it smoke. Thanks Mr. Craftsman!!!This Kibler kit rifle is finished and will be going up to Pennsylvania this week. Nicely figured Cherry stocked with some carving and a browned barrel.

I liked the color, but I can't tell does it produce a smooth or rough finish. I haven't built for years and the one I used from Springfield, Oregon isn't made anymore. It produced a smoothe finish but uniform and richer color than Birchwood Casey hot brown. It's Dixie Instant Antique Browning Solution (from DGW). I've been using it with great results, never fail.
It depends on how you apply it. For a smooth finish I allow it to work just a day or two and rub it out with an oily rag. I also have allowed it to sit and reapplied many times to produce a nicely pitted surface.I liked the color, but I can't tell does it produce a smooth or rough finish.
