This brings up another memory of odors from my youth. When I was 7 or 8 years old a friend of mine came running up to me and said "hey, smell this". He had something on the end of his finger so I leaned over to smell it. He shoved his finger clear up my nose and ran off. He had a piece of cat poop on it. I was gagging and hacking so much I couldn't even go after him!
I'd still be after him!

I just want to publically say... I LOVE the smell of Ballistol. There, I said it. How many are with me

Not fond of Balistol, but I love the smell from a just fired shotgun shell. Reminds me of pheasant hunting with my father when I was a little kid, too young to carry a gun.

Dragged out of bed at 4am, meeting a couple of his friends at a little diner for breakfast. Frosty morning, waiting for the dog to flush a bird....

Magical memories.

I don’t like the smell of Ouzo or Ballistol.
Adding the scent of Anise to mineral oil as a marketing gimmick just to make their product different stand out greatly bothers me.
The only saving grace for this product is that it will mix with water.
There are much better gun oils on the market.
I’m sure a deer could smell Ballistol a long way off.

Sometimes I like it other times it’s a bit off putting. It is my #1 lube for firearms. It is very versatile and good for metal, wood, leather and what ails ya!
