Ok, heres the deal. I was gonna make my dad and 2 cousins some powder measures from some deer antler I have. Nothing fancy just something from me to them. The problem is I busted through the side on three different tries. They had just enough of a curve that I couldn't quite get the hole long enough to get the full amunt in it.

My question is can I do anything with these or save them in some way? The hole is small.

You can repair with epoxy, metal or raw hide patch, but as easy as deer antler is to obtain. I think that I would just get some more antler and save myself a lot of extra work!

I gotta agree with Horner.. deer antler is fairly easy to obtain..BUT if ya can't find em, Epoxy will work, then paint or dye to match. I had a measure I spent WAY too much time on and and drilled right through it...I used some epoxy and textured it as so..then dyed it to match.. no one ever knew.

I have patched many "oops" with clear epoxy mixed with fine antler dust from sanding. :idunno: :idunno: The best way to avoid "oops" is to drill part way and the use a red hot bent wire to burn out the rest. WARNING do this outside when swmbo is not around ! :idunno: :idunno:
