On Nov. 10, a great friend of mine passed. His name was Jack Handsberry. Some of you may know him, he was a gunmaker in the Hudson Valley in New York. He was 82 years old. He suffered a short illness and left us. His closest friends and family were with him his last few days and I am so fortunate I was able to spend that time with him. He was so much more than just a friend, we spoke every day and visited often. We have been hunting, camping, shooting, to rendezvous and historical reenactments together over the years. Spent holidays together and lazy afternoons talking flintlocks, history, smoking cigars, cooking and sipping a bourbon now and again while Jack played guitar. I have some of the flintlocks he made for me and I will cherish them. I enjoyed watching him do his craft, he was very talented. He is missed terribly now, but he told me he would always be around in the thoughts of us who love him. He was a remarkable man and an inspiration to me. He is survived by his Daughter, two Grandsons and a beautiful Great Grandson who bears Jack’s looks. Rest now my Friend, we have it from here Buddy.
