Resulted in this Maple WoodsRunner showing up last Saturday afternoon, after a year of looking (and admiring) Jim Kiblers offerings on the web.
Plain (no carving) extra fancy, sale priced because of a small 'birthmark' just above the guard on the left side is what caused me to lose control.
Now, I'm gathering tools and clearing a space on a workbench in the garage. I have an old wood workers vice. The garage is not climate controlled, but is part of the house and while it gets cold or hot in there I don't think humidity should be a problem for this gun since it is to be used and enjoyed in the great outdoors anyway...
Yes, this is my first Flint Lock, I'm 71 and have always liked building things so this should be lots of fun.
There is a group of muzzleloaders that get together once a month at a local Sportsmans Club, that I intend to join.
Regards,
Simon

Thanks, it seems to be very well built, and all the holes seem to already be done except for the left side brass plate....
My advice for you is to contact Bree at Kiblers if you have any questions or concerns about anything that might be astray. Their excellent help and support is included in the purchase price.

My bad; the little pin holes don't go through the side plate, so alls good 😋 l don't think there is even one hole to be drilled, which is amazing

Congratulations ! You will like it I’m sure. I finished a colonial just before Christmas. I’m 70. The weather on the days I’ve had available to go to the rang have not been good, so haven’t sighted it in yet. This weekend shows promise though
