If you cleaning it well after every event and protecting it I don't see why the threads would corrode... I could see external chokes looking terrible on a Damascus barrel and would agree... Just because they say Briley does not mean you have good tastes... I have a complete set of Briley choke and mostly use internal chokes and only use external chokes for special situations like long range duck hunting when function out weights taste...

I sent you a pm where you can find one. I did a google search and it took me to one of the gun auction sights where there is one up for bid right now. It has the removable chokes like you want.

"I don't know if I'd put choke tubes on a ML shotgun because I'd worry the choke threads would get fouled up and rusted to the barrels. I would think you'd need a lot more attention to the muzzles."

I have a T/C New Englander and a Pedersoli 10 gauge, both with screw in chokes.

I clean both with water and soap after shooting.

After cleaning the barrels, I remove the tubes, clean the tubes with a tooth brush and clean the threads in the barrel with a tooth brush and wipe the threads with a soft rag.

I coat the tube with RIG and the threads in the barrel get a coat of RIG, screw in the tube and the barrel gets a coat of 3 in 1.

Never had a problem with rust.

Never had a problem with loading either with choke tubes.

I had the pedersoli 10GA and same report on cleaning. Not a big deal. As for choke tubes I do recall it was pretty tight with the full choke but I got em loaded.
