I’m building my first flintlock rifle from a ToW kit. It had a double set trigger. I finished inletting the triggers and the lock and have noticed a problem That I’m sure how to fix. After bring the cock to full cock, the trigger and pulling the set trigger, the front trigger will not engage on its own. I have to hold it forward while I am pulling the set trigger. Any ideas or suggestions?

Does the trigger function normally when out of the stock? If it does, then what Phil said is right. Something is interfering with something else and causing drag. It could be a spring, the trigger blades, or even that the sear bar itself is too low.
