I just got this less than an hour ago. Good thing I am well stocked at this point. That expensive powder I bought the last couple of years isn't looking so expensive now!

Yes, in case you have not heard, GOEX production date was pushed back again.

GOEX dealers were informed the new projected production date is end of June. If they are able to make this happen, this means they will not start shipping product out to dealers until earliest August. GOEX has also informed us prices will be going up, but they have yet to give us a new price list.

Schuetzen and Swiss containers are here in the US, however their prices have gone up 17% and 22% respectively. This price increase was a surprise to all of us...including the distributor. Current prices listed as of the date of this email DO NOT reflect the 17% & 22% increases.

Maine Powder House current inventory on black powder is very low. I will be working with the Schuetzen/Swiss distributor on a new order, however it will be a limited order due to the anticipation of GOEX getting back in business sometime this fall.

Check the website for details as I will keep that up-to-date for everyone.

Yeah the importers are probably hesitant to buy a huge supply if they know that there will be competition from GOEX or demand for GOEX when they get online. It makes sense that the market price will increase.

If you live in central Virginia area Adams Muzzleloading in Ettrick (near Petersburg) still has Goex in stock but don't think he will ship.

Inflation alone will cause the prices to go up.

I have a bunch also. But I do buy more every time I go to town. Last month it was $25.40 per pound. Last week it was $37.00 per pound of Schuetzen.

^^^Artificial inflation/price increases.^^^

We're now at the point of Razors and Razor Blades. Babies and Baby Formula. Can't have one without the other.

Guns are useless without gunpowder. Guns are useless without projectiles.

The firearm/powder/projectile industry is going to continue because these industries know they can get away with it.

Like no one in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts sells holy black. I don't really want to travel to buy any. So I buy 5 at a time and it mitigates the shipping and the haz mat.

I've got enough Schuetzen 2 and 3F to last me well into next year and the pound of 4F will last me several years longer.

That said, right now Powder Valley still has all Schuetzen products except 4F in stock $23/lb. Might be worth it for me to take a half day off work and make the 2 hour road trip South next week for a couple more bottles of each.

I think government contracts will eat up a lot of it. If not most. I’m not optimistic about the situation. It seems our government has a habit of huge contracts with munitions producers to keep as much of it out of private hands as possible….

Before Goex went off the radar I bought a bunch of it, probably more than I will need before either I croak or get too old to shoot my M/L. I paid $30 a pound with hazmat and shipping factored in. What I paid sounded ridiculous then (panic buying) but might not be all that bad in the future.

Same. I am close to $35 per.

Had to go back and check the prices, but the last order I made with Graf & Sons a month or so ago came out to $34.40/lbs. Order was mostly Swiss plus several pounds of Schuetzen. Haven’t checked prices since that order.

I have a modest, though sufficient, stash of Goex & Grafs that I ordered about a year before things started going crazy. I won't post what the prices were but I'll just say I hit it perfectly.
The highest price I've paid, is $7.50/lb for Swiss, and I thought that was high!
