I have been pondering a long time as to what to do with my smoothbored pattern 61 Enfield stock! It shoots to high with the stock Peabody rear sight so I made my own but that means the stock comb is to high.
Many a member on the smoothbore forum would recomend bending the barrel but I could not do it!

So I shaved the stock so I no longer have to press my cheek down hard on the stock.

Now I just need to finnish it.

Took it for a hunt today and it was perfect, for the first time shouldering the gun the sights were practicaly lined up without having to move my head

It was the same on the two following squirls too

Hanshi, I'm not trying to be captain obvious but did you hapen to look at the rabbit's head?

Brit,
Nice shot and great work on your gun, as a greater man than me once said "Only accurate guns are interesting" well I would say that one is with out a doubt interesting. Chris

Yes, I did see the rabbit's head. That's why I was tempted to ask the question. Small game is usually taken with shot in a smoothbore but I saw no other wounds. I'm certainly impressed with the shooting.

Gents, it was a ball, shot would of done on this rabbit. As it happened he was peaking over a brow at me so shot would of only got him in his head and yes sometimes this smoothbore is filled with shot

It shoulders good now

Mr. Britsmoothy- Congratulations on having the courage to actually make your gun fit you properly! Looks like it is just right now.
