Hello, I am having a small English cannon barrel made for the period of 1720-1760. The barrel will be quite small at only 30 inches in length and weighing about 90 pounds. I am looking for someone interested in taking on an interesting project which is to build a carriage for it. They are referred to as "Grasshopper Guns" and I have attached a sketch with dimensions. I do not believe there are any extant examples, but I could be wrong, so a certain amount of artistic license would be just fine. These were made in the field and so a beautiful finish is not required. Just period functionality as I do intend to live fire it. (This is not my first step into cannons in case you are worried for my safety!) There is no rush on this project as the barrel will not be ready for a month. If this is something you would consider please let me know an approximation of your charges. I could send the barrel directly to you to ensure a proper fit. Thank you so much for your consideration on this!
