A roundball for deer (and turkey) hunting loads...

Latest order from Eddie May arrived (1000 .520"s)...they've been excellent on deer so far, and are what I'll be trying to put through a longbeard this spring.

If I were going to use a MLR on a turkey I would keep the range short and back off on the powder charge. That is if I really intended to eat the critter! Geo. T.

No ML rifle in MN either. only shotgun. I did see a 12 ga ML at the last funshow. 250 bux.. maybe next year..

This is why I originally posted this in the hunting section as it was hunting related and I knew that the thread would inevitably evolve into hunting discussions.
There's no meat damage with a heart/lung shot unless you like to eat turkey organs.

and Eddie May is well respected and well liked by many members on here and in Friendship.

Very reliable and good man. He makes a LOT of roundball in a year. Can't go wrong with quality, price or speed from him.

i cast my own but it doesnt hurt to have a source for premade balls.

Birddog6 put me on to Eddie May several years ago and I gradually built up a big on-hand inventory for all calibers / gauges in preparation for retirement.
I consciously decided not to get into casting...had spent 30 years reloading several rifle/pistol/shotgun loads, and all my trap & skeet shooting needs. Got kind of burned out on reloading and just didn't have any interest in investing the time & space and get all tangled up with yet another form of it. Eddie Mays prices are very reasonable so it's a good fit for me.

Nope ...no RB for a 62 cal.
Wife would divorce me if I brought another gun home. She would get the house, my retirement and the pet mule.
I would miss the pet mule. :haha:

I found a way to get new guns and get away with it but it takes time and some effort.
Sell one gun, then buy two with the purposes of selling them. Shoot them for awhile (too be sure they are safe to sell in good conscience) then sell them, and then get 3 guns with the proceeds. One is to 'replace' the original you sold and 2 more to keep a good thing going...
It took my sweety almost 4 moths to catch on. But I made enough money to save our bacon on some unexpected bills and I ended with more guns than I started with. I don't think she knows exactly what I have now. It isn't like I even have a proper frontier womans arsenal. Far from it. I still do not have a big bore or a squirl gun...

For the longest time I thought a squirrel rifle was one you bought with your squirrel money, Thats how I bought all of my guns (or if you ask my Wife..one gun) She doesn't ask me about my gun(s) and I don't ask her about her spa trips, fair trade.
