Ron

not sure where you are getting your blades, but if you have not already looked at Two Finger Knife LLC they are worth a look. They are in ID and sell on ebay.

I have only been using their blanks for several years now and simply love them. The Damascus blades are some of the best.

Your post got me wondering exactly how many knives I have so I counted them. 39 to date. I agree with Iowashooter, you can never have enough knives.

I have a lot. Too many to mention. Some are stainless steel and some are not. On the non-stainless I wax them but if I forget and don't look them over (Florida humidity is H#!! on knives) on a regular basis I might have to use #2000 paper and polish them up a bit and them green chrome back to a good shine.
Do you guys wax the blades?? Air tight box?

Idaho Ron,
I'd be proud to own anyone of those
four knives. Those dinner tools are also cool.

I acquired another knife today. Will probably never use. It is an NRA belt clip, one hand opener. Still in box. Cabinet queen now.

It looks like I need to step up my game! I have only 2 "real" knives, one I just received from LoneHunter and a stag handled Puma. I may have to give Lonehunter another call or Ben Hoffman, the guy that made Htredneck's Knife.

Knives are interesting to build and will probably start building them as a hobby in the future. The 2 knives pictured below have purchased blades and are 2 of the 3 knives I've put together...the 3rd is a folder that's in a buddies collection. It's not much, but it was my first.

The knife previously pictured by Idaho Ron is the kind of knife I'd like to build someday....a beautiful and useful knife.....Fred

Those are nice indeed! I suspect if you try period knives, judging by your skill at building rifles, you'll build some nice ones indeed!

Give it time. You're only 54.

Just picked up a nice old carbon steel Schrade 4 inch straight blade at a Gun Show. It says SCHRADE U.S.A. 498 on it. It has a brass finger guard with a brass butt, with fake stag handles. It still has a nice sharp edge to it. They were asking $40.00 for it I countered with $30.00 and they said O.K. Btw, it has an anvil and what looks like a flag stamped on the end of the brass end, any Ideas what they mean? I 've looked around and couldn't find anything about the marks.

Got another one yesterday. A Keen Kutter two blade folder. Cleaned, oiled and sharpened then put in cabinet with all the others.

Six I just finished...can never have too many, and they make great gifts too...

Thank you! I hope they aren't too modern in design to post here...I don't want to ruffle any feathers.

Hey Nic16,

I'm not so sure one of those would be a good gift, but if you give one to me, I'll be happy to let you know.

They look great!
