Thought that I would show you all something that you might of seen in the past, in one variation or another, but here is a horn container made for a dual purpose for carrying bird shot OR carrying rum! __ a SHOTRUM HORN!... :rotf:
All joking aside, I bee's wax lined this rum horn, as any other, but this in in a size handy for carrying enough bird shot for a day wing shooting with a Fowler! .. I'm not advocating mixing alcoholic beverages with handling a gun, but only showing the possibilities of a dual purpose item and a great conversation opener tool!
OK! ... Maybe the name isn't PC, but everything else about this little horn is, ie, made of horn with exotic hardwood sides and real cork stoppers on top and one end. I engraved this horn with traditional bordering and lettering that reads, FOWL SHOT and THIRST AID with folk art game birds of the time, including Tom turkey, pheasant, duck and crane/stoke figures.
Time to get more serious and get back to work!
