Added Sod Cloth flaps value?

Considering the purchase of an RK Lodges 8'X8' primitive lean-to and would appreciate comments on the value of adding the 12' sod cloth flaps with the order. Are they worth the added protection from wind/rain? Thanks, in advance!

I have a 10X12 wall tent that I spend most of the hunting season in. Have been in several storms and glad I had a sod cloth to help keep out the rain.Even with a sod cloth you need to take time and set it up right so water will not leak under the cloth. I would order a tent with a sod cloth. I am adding one to a friends tent which does not have one.

have two tents. one with a sod cloth and one without. I would go with the sod cloth without hesitation. Keeps the wind from coming under the tent and goes along way to keeping the water out. I spent two and a half days in the rain with my pyramid and never had a bit of water in the tent from the floor. Of course, it helps if you know where to set it up.

My Tentsmith's wedge survived a torrential downpour with 50 mph winds and all there was inside was a very small puddle near the front door flaps. Slept in this tent for 10 days last summer and it rained very hard for 8 of them.
