Yeah, that's exactly the comparison I was thinking about when I came up with the same idea for adjusting irons.

…if it helps, think of moving the gun under the sights while the sights stay alined with the target.

I never used acronyms to adjust sights. In my mind I use an exaggerated sight to give me the movement I want, ie: if my shots are high I imagine a really tall front sight pushing the barrel down bringing the next shot lower, and so on. Works for me.
