My 54 Hawken likes the real bullets. Rebel and I cast them, and I would be glad to send you a few of them to see if your fast twist barrel likes them. The real molds work good for us and the price is right at about 20.00 for the single mold.

OOps :cursing: You did say a mold to duplicate the GP bullet. Have to get back with ya on that one.

ACTUALLY looking for ANY conical that shoots "good" that I can duplicate. I've heard the REAL is good. Please elaborate.
I DO like the Hornady's but thats whats avail to me most commonly and the T/C maxi's are good too.

I've always stayed within TC load data charts for powder charges and projectile weights...never tried to magnumize anything so I don't know what you mean by big bullets...for me, 100grns Goex 2F and a 255grn TC Maxi-Hunter or 285grn Hornady GP bullets gave outstanding accuracy in my TC .45's...never had a hammer blow back, or nipples burn out using those loads...haven't ever changed the stainless hot-shot nipples I put in my caplocks...

One of the R.E.A.L. bullet molds by Lee in the correct caliber would be my choice if I were going to shoot conicals.

It should shoot well in all your barrels since they are all made for conical twist.

In my 45 I am shooting 385 to 475 gr bullets. I only use 80 gr of powder but I do get some blow back. I have seen some burn out on nipples like I said on these big bullets. I am like you on the 50's. never had a problem.
Wattsy, I have a lyman great plains mould. I don't care for it. It was not a bullet that was anything close to a Hornady as far as accuracy goes. They might shoot good in other peoples guns but not in my GM 1-28 twist. Ron
