I'm lookin for advice here , now I have 7 bp guns but they are all caplocks and I want to get a flint smoothbore to shoot patched round ball and shot . What can I get for the 600 dollar range a kit would be ok as I've put kits together so far .Is there anything available in that starting price range? I could go to 700 or 800 but I'd have to wait to get started a little longer than I want to .

Check out Early Rustic Arms. You can get one in the white for around that price.

There's an Indian-made Bess for sale at gunsamerica.com right now for only $350. Item GA#976678377. Flash hole is not drilled out yet, so it's unfired.

Either of the TVMs con come close to that price for an in-the-white gun.

Carolina smoothbores in 20 gauge have brought home a lot of game and are a lot of fun to shoot. I got a Fusil de Chasse.

You can get TOW's NW trade gun kit for under $600.
They advertize it as their easiest gun to assemble.

North Star West makes a trade gun kit that is priced right and uses a walnut stock. They finish up very nice.
