Gees check around fer prices on round balls now! WOW! .490 FROM TRACK ARE $9.65, DIXIE wants $13.50 an them is hornadays..speers are MORE! maybe fuel prices? shipping? gouging? gees! fire up the melters! arm the molds! casting time is HERE! :shake:

A year ago lead was selling on the world market for about 42 cents per pound, today it is over a dollar per pound.

Two years ago you could buy a 25 pound bag of shot for about $16, today it is close to $40.

China is buying vast quantities of raw material for manufacturing and driving up prices on many raw materials, from lead to tungsten and crude oil. This trend is not slowing down. Buy all the roundballs you can, as next year they will probably be more expensive.

the only time anymore that I shoot the store bought stuff is if I pick it up off from a trade blanket at a shoot. Unless I'm shooting the .32 and then I am using buckshot

best price i SEEN...(probably subject to change!) was that "rrarms" at around $8 + a box, but the shipping fer 20 bxes was $26! :shocked2: i got 20 bxs. at $9 apiece but shipping thru p.o. was $8.95.. (flat rate box) gee my Mailman don't like me anymore! :blah:

Here in Germany i would pay for 100 RB in .440 ca. $13,50. So i buy my lead from a home-improvement market( NOT Binford :rotf: ).I can cast ca.1000RB in .440 for $39,50.
:hatsoff:

Try Eddie May in Georgia...excellent cast balls at excellent prices...I've used his .395s and .600's...outstanding...and for comparison, the big .600s are only $8/100

Eddie Mays is a good guy and a heck of a shot, used to shoot with him several years ago.

What size buckshot? and what do they measure?

I use Hornady 0 Buck that actually comes out to .320. My .32 Douglas barrel is .325 :youcrazy: :haha: Any way same reason I'm going to build a .36 so that I can shoot buckshot out of it too..... when I get to shoot it that is

the single 0 Hornady will not work in every .32 since it is .320 diameter

My 32 is the only one I don't pour for, I bought lots of balls years ago when I was in Colorado, next time I order from midway I will get a mould.

WOW!!! Good thing I have a smelter. I guess it is time to go to the recyclers and get another 100lbs of cable sheathing at $0.50Lb to augment the 100lbs I already have.
