Alabama annual Kentucky rifle show canceled

Just informed the show at Joe Wheeler state park scheduled for this weekend, was cancelled due to forecasts for hazardous weather. Was looking forward to it but there will be more opportunities.

What is the source for this cancellation information? I need to confirm it.

Edit: I have confirmation via text message from event organizer Jim Parker that it is canceled due to weather.

Mr. Parker said it’s unlikely unless a venue opens up on the state park schedule and it is a very popular location with lots on their calendar.

I doubt it'll be as bad as forecast, but too late now I guess....

The forecast does change every few hours, it doesn't look too bad for us who live near Wheeler. I have friends who have booked tables, they live near Clarksville TN and said they were getting two rounds of snow up there, the drive down could be very dicey. Even before the event was canceled they had decided to back out because of the possible bad road conditions between Clarksville and Wheeler.

I know, same here north of Nashville. But, according to the radar, there is a large area of rain in Texas headed this way. I guess it will turn into snow and ice when/if it gets here.

Took a walk back to the woods this morning for a hunt. Didn't see anything, but it was peaceful.

As a long time southern middle Tennessee boy, this weather is rare but historically it happens,,,,,Kinda a "perfect storm" situation. You have to have a big low pressure system form over Texas dragging up Gulf moisture and with perfect timing an arctic cold front collides with all this moisture and Bam!....snow and/or ice slams Rogersville, Alabama.

It will probably be mostly melted away come Sunday and it probably won't happen again for the next five or ten years.
