Hello all. My name is Steve and I live near Anchor Point AK which is on the Kenai Peninsula. I am a newbie to the smoke pole world. I was gifted an early date CVA mountian rifle (USA stamp and 4 screw patch box). The previous owner had never shot it and didn't know if it ever was. So, with no knowledge I will be reading and/or asking a lot of questions.

Steve, Welcome to our forum my friend! We are truly honored to have you! There is a lot of information on the CVA Mountain Rifle right here on this forum. We have a Search feature which is located at the top of all this forums page's. It is a great tool to utilize for research or for looking up something specific. Just type in " CVA Mountain Rifle ", and you'll find a lot of great information on your rifle. Of course you can also always ask questions as well!

Let me take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about our forum and its members.

This forum is the very best when it comes to Traditional Muzzleloader's and BP shooting! All the other aspects that go along with it are covered as well.

You'll find like minded folks as yourself here. The majority of our members have decades of knowledge and experience. They would be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have. We would also love to hear what you might want to share with us as well!

This forum is a very friendly and lively place. New topics are being created on a daily basis. There is always something new to checkout all the time!

I can guarantee that you will learn something new each and every time you visit this forum. I personally learned more in just one year than all the others combined. You will too!

Again, We are honored to have ya with us and we also look forward to hearing more from you in the very near future!

Welcome aboard my friend!

Respectfully, Cowboy :hatsoff:

Awesome story. Good to have you here. Tons of info and a wealth of knowledge here.

Welcome to the Forum, Steve. :hatsoff:

You have found the right place to learn, and have your questions answered. And there's quite a few Alaskans here, too.

Hopefully, in time, you will find yourself answering someone else's questions on here.

Thank you all. Looking foward to getting started. A few things left to buy and warmer weather to play.
