This is a used, all British (32××), Parker Hale 1858 2 band .577 rifle. Overall, it is in good plus to very good condition. Wood and metal retain most of their original factory finishes. Some minor handling marks and small scratches. The 33" barrel has a very good bore. The rifle was set up for competition with three modifications. First, the barrel is permanently glass bedded to stock. It is my understanding that many shooters prefer this method. It can easily be reversed by placing rifle in a chest freezer overnight. Metal will contract and tapping stock with leather mallet will release it. Leaving it as is has the upside of keeping moisture out during cleaning. The second modification was two holes in stock behind tang, apparently for a tang sight no longer present. Third is a cleanout screw added to bolster. Came in a heavy custom made wooden case with Cherry finish. Interior is black fabric over foam padding. Someone really cared for this rifle. Nice rifle in desirable all British production. $1150 + Shipping. $1050 without case.
