I went for the first time in 2006. I didn't shoot that year I just went to see how it was done and to check out all those amazing rifles. I didn't know a soul when I got there but by the end of the day I made several friends that helped me out tremendously. I've shot the last three years.
It will amaze you how friendly and willing to help out a fellow shooter the folks who shoot in that match are. We may not know or recall each other's name, but we recognize the faces and re-establish our friendships for that one day.
Like Ranger said, it's worth the trip just to see the Valley of the Three Forks of the Wolf River. The shooting match and seeing the friends we've made is just the icing on the cake.
