Hello All! I live in West Central Michigan, near Grand Rapids. I've had a 50cal. percussion for over 30 years and have actually shot it a few times. Now I've decided to try flint lock. Ordered one from Access Heritage that will be here on Tuesday 10/19. Never shot a flint lock and am trying to learn all I can about it and trying to locate the things needed to make it go bang. It looks like this is the place to go to learn as much as I can about this topic.

Greetings! Just joined myself from up by the straits.

When you think your flinter turned into a caplock, you know that you are doing well. (I wrote "you are" cause I'm too darned lazy to use the " ' ". Hello from Idaho.

Thanks to all who replied. If I can find some black powder, I just might be making some smoke by this weekend.
