After a week of no cleaning and not a speck of rust my new fowler took another pheasant at good distance.

The dang thang goes off like a fire cracker

Nice looking bird..You hunting in the rain again?
ok gotta ask...Why wouldn't you clean your gun for a week?

Those are some big pheasants Brit. I always enjoy your posts. Where do you hunt pheasants, in grain fields?

Pat
All mixed Pat. Woodland of oaks and beech, pines and birch.
Arable and pasture.
I am very blessed, that I do know!
Being a crowded island to have such freedom is special!

Sorry, I missed your question.

Yes it just started raining again that day.

I hear so many panicking about cleaning.
I took the barrel and heated it by the stove to dry it out.
I then swabbed the bore with patch lube. I then readied the gun a week later with no ill effects found
It's had a good clean now.
