Antique store find . Need help with id

Found this old girl today and bought it on a whim . Bore measures roughly .590 . Only has a front sight ( maybe a shotgun???) . Barrel is about 42 1/2 inches long . No markings anywhere that i can find , it is disassembled because I was looking for markings . Lock is tired and mainspring doesn't stay attached anymore . The trigger guard and butplate are fairly ornate and nice engraving in the stock . Any ideas???? Also the barrel is octagon until the forgrip ends then it is round

IIRC, the "PV" is a Belgian proof mark (normally marked on the barrel), or the lock maker's mark (usually marked on the inside of the lock plate)

It's an early civil war era military surplus musket that has been converted and "sporterized" for the civilian market.
Both sides bought and imported ten's of thousands from the European market. Rapid advancement of rifles in that same era made theses obsolete, stored for a decade or so,, then sold during the 1890's into the early 1900's, (Sear's Catalog $3,)
Look around under the barrel real good, you might find more markings.
They show up around here in MN every so often, most ended up scrap.

I removed some rust from underside of the barrel and found these 2 markings

I'm sorry to sound stupid, but are you referring to the marks in post#2, or to two other marks that you have not yet shown us?
