I have to drive about 30 km, 40 min, to get my BP. Buy it in the town of Rosenheim, Bavaria. Here in GE we cannot buy as much BP as we want. For buying you need a licence from the authorities. And the licence is only valid for 5 years then you have to ask for a new one. The amount of powder for 5 years is 10 kg. But you only can buy max. 1 kg because you are not allowed to store more than 1 kg. All a bit complicated in ole GE.

Bob..do they sell directly? I have been getting mine from 2 places in Tunkhannock, Wyoming Cty and Montrose Sporting goods. Had a heck of a time getting 4f prior to the late season. The only good thing was they all sell it for about $11 a pound.

I drove to the Log Cabin Shop this afternoon to pick up some powder...and a bunch of other do-dads :shocked2: and I mentioned to the lady that real BP is impossible to find anymore, and she told me that besides them, there are only two others in the state that carry it now! She told me not to worry though because they will always carry it. Now if only I could walk in there and walk out with only Blackpowder. It will take some practice! :surrender:

Man I did not want to hear that! I hope one of the other shops that carry the real deal are closer to Newark than Lodi. :(

RC, about the only place that I know of "locally" is Frank's Guns over in Canastota. That might be more than an hour's drive each way for you, though. I know it's better than 40 minutes for me.

I have a few pounds of Goex fffg leftover, but perhaps in the future, if there's enough of us local, we could go in on a case? Just wondering. I doubt I'd ever have need for 25 pounds over the course of several years, unless my dream comes true that I have all the time that I want to go shooting and hunting.

...right, I know, I should have woken up hours ago! (I did, but you know how coffee can be)

The BP you describe is a german product from WANO, Pulvermühle Kunigunde in the city of Essen. It is a good and priceworth BP. I use it in all my Ml's. Best is type PPP, similar to FFFg.Further more there is PP (FFg, P (Fg) and PPPP(FFFFg). You should have a try!
