How long ago did you have these problems Pietta?
My understanding is the quality is muych better than years gone by. My son has 2 piettes and has never ever had a problem with them in firing.
He bought them about 2000 A Lemat, and a S.S. Remy. He uses them both in life firing and in civil war events. They used to have thwe ame inherent weakness that the original did, so I guess you could call them a more period correct pistol than others.
