I dropped a flintlock pistol off for repair to my local muzzleloading shop back in late October and was told to check back after Thanksgiving. Went in today and see it hasnt been touched.

About 6 inches of fresh snow overnight, snuck around but didn’t cut any fresh sign, so I spent time in the new shop - well under construction shop.
I was also out in fresh show! Chasing rabbits and squirrels with my Fowler! I missed a rabbit! My son bagged a squirrel and a dove with an unmentionable. Saw 5 does! Still a beautiful morning! As soon as I got back to the house my dad calls that our yew just gave birth to two lambs! So then began the game of getting them up in the barn!

Nice to hear your using your new Fowler they need to be shot lots .

I’ve been busy building stuff. Was going to sell some of it at the Abalama KY Rifle Show, but since it was cancelled, I figgered I may as well donate some of it to our club’s upcoming Tennessee Longhunters annual fund raising auction…

Annnnd, I’m working on several River Cane arrows that’ll have trade points and Turkey feather fletchings.

That noggin may not make it to the auction!

I checked a couple flintlock smoothbores that had been shot a few weeks ago, cleaned with plain rainwater, dried with cotton patches and the bores coated with fixing’ wax (bees wax/vegetable oil). Bores were bright and shiny, still clean as a whistle.

No, I ain’t starting that old argument again. Just saying what muzzleloader related stuff I did cause it’s cold and snowy outside and I can’t (or don’t want to) do a lot of things outside I’d rather be doing. 🤣🤣

Shot my Frontier caplock this morning. Don't shoot paper much anymore but put one up at 100 yds just to make sure I was still putting them where I want them. 50 grains Triple 7 2fg, .490 ball, .010 patch. Somebody was asking in one of the threads about T7. Works good for me. 8 shots all off hand.
It was 20F at the range today with no wind for a change. I do like this rifle. :)

This weekend I took apart my 1851 Navy and cleaned all the grease off the nipple threads, and out of the cones themselves. Still struggling to find powder out here.
