Any love for the club butt ?

I love club butt guns. I have4 and one on the way. one 12ga, two 20ga , and one 11 ga.

I'm talking fowlers here, :grin: I recently saw one for sale and found it interesting, very unique looking for sure, anybody have one or have any experience with one ? Are they as awkward as they look or is there a benefit from the stock design ?

I’ve shot one; the size and drop of the butt make them very comfortable for shooting. However the weight hinders it a bit.

Club butt muskets were used in many revolutionary war militias many were cut down from 50 inch barrels.

I love the look of these club stocks, but I have never used one.

I have a Ken Gahagan built Hudson Valley Fowling Piece, 12 gauge, 56 inch barrel. Gun is taller than me, but weighs only 8lbs 10 oz. Handles and points better than my shorter guns. Got a deer with it two years ago, and many squirrels. I can highly recommend this style for shotgunning.
