I'm surprised you guys stick to handguns. I have a .50 Hawken replica within reach as I write this. If a bear busts in here I'll be a lot better off than a man armed with a pistol. However, I must confess to playing (practicing) with a handgun a lot when no one else is around. graybeard

GUILTY!

I know a conservation officer that dry fires his pistol to know exactly when the hammers going to fall. He aims at the door knob in his office at home. Once he shot the door knob AND the tv across the hall that his kids were watching!

You bet! Not always but when the house in empty the mood strikes me, out comes the pistol and holster. :haha: Just goes to show you that the little boy is all of us is still alive and well.

Plus, like Dave says, getting familiar with the piece every chance you get is a good thing. I believe the more comfortable we are with the feel of the gun in our hand is important. The more relaxed we are with the hold will no doubt improve our shooting skills and help to hit what you're aiming at. Besides, it's fun.

Like David above, I do except it drives the wife crazy(she thinks I'm loosing it)but fortunately she's working evenings for awhile and I can exercise the guns regularly without a hassle.

Well within what can be considered "training and familiarising."
Be safe.

In continuance with the above thread that some strange person of ill repute must have started... :hmm:
Does anyone have a manufacturer or home-brewed recipe for black powder revolver "snap caps"? (Not that I would ever use them.... :shake:
