Anyone else shoot Flintlock?

Nah. Nobody shoots those anymore. If it don't come from Wally World wrapped in plastic and with a plastic stock, nobody wants them anymore. Actually, the romance of the flinters has always been my preference. I am fortunate to still have two very beautiful flint rifles. One I can no longer hold up due to health problems. The other is my shooter, thanks to Dave Persons without whom I would no longer be in the shooting game.

I will be building the “Sparrow” flintlock smoothbore pistol soon (MBS kit) which is a copy of an original 18th Century pistol used by “Jack Sparrow” in that fun movie.
For now, I get by with my 15.5” barreled French Model 1733 Dragoon flintlock pistol, (which I made from another MBS kit).

Most French flinters have very nice lines !!

I did the box interior. @dave951 (who is a member here) made the Red Oak box on his cnc machine. It’s great.

I have been a convert for a couple of years now; Issac Haines Rifle (Chambers) and English pistol (Hollie Wessel), both 40-caliber plus a Green River Forge 54 caliber Astorian and Trade Gun in 62 (bottom Gun in the last photo with extra 50 caliber RB barrel).

I have a few factory guns but they're for resale; Ardesa 45 caliber "Trapper" pistol, CVA 50-caliber Hawken with a 1” x 28” barrel, a Lyman Deer Stalker 50, and a CVA 45 caliber Kentucky rifle. The Hawken and Deer Stalker are almost ready to go. The other two need work.

I have so many flintlock pistols to build if I can only get to them. I want to build another cased pair of Wogdons, a cased pair of early Twiggs, an early 1700s Dolep horse pistol, and finish my turn off pistol. The Dolep, turn off, and my recent officer's pistol are meant to go with my recent English fowler and rifle into a long leather covered wooden case lined with woolen baize and wall paper. I intend the case to be framed in Sitka spruce with a domed lid and covered with leather. It would house my endeavor into 18th century English firearms.

Started out with flintlock, was told percussion was better so I got one, I was told wrong so I got another flintlock, wanted to be fer sure so I got another percussion; nope, they were wrong so I got another flintlock and the percussions sit mostly on the wall, but I take them them out once in a while just to remind myself why Flintlock is the best.
