Grumpy Gunsmith pin punch.
Kibler will sell you his 1/16” wire, don’t remember what he charged me, but it wasn’t much.I once ran out of supplied wire from Chambers and ended up using utility flagging wire, worked perfectly.
Wire can also be had at any hobby shop that supports radio controlled planes, boats, cars or trains. Local or online. Sometimes craft stores like Michaels carry it too.Kibler will sell you his 1/16” wire, don’t remember what he charged me, but it wasn’t much.
You buy a 1/16" pin punch. My kit gun from TVM in Mississippi has these. Barrel was installed in stock. My question - how the heck do you punch out such a small pin? I can hardly see them in the wood.
Thanks Jim, I agree so I ordered jewelers saw, Now I'll have both.i would suggest using a jewlers saw.
Softer metal so in theory you could find yourself with bent pins refusing to come out without doing damage to the wood. Thanks Jim, I agree so I ordered jewelers saw, Now I'll have both.
Is there a problem with just using 4D finish nails? Much easier to obtain and easy to cut.
Thanks Phil
With a round needle file.
Having both works well. Cut it out with the jewelers saw and then smooth and size it with the file.i would suggest using a jewlers saw.
