Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
Out of a rifled barrel? :hmm: Just talking with my ML buddy about the possibility of using it..If it can be done what would be the type of wads or patching material needed? Thanks

So true I use 30-40 Krag casese cut to length, and turn the rims down for .44 Mag. shot shells. I use a .410 shot cup cut to length, with #9 shot. The cases are cut to full chamber length. I use inverted 44 gas checks crimped for over shot. The gas check can be deadly..
After all that work they are only good to about 5 yards in a 4" barrel. In the longer barrels they are of little use. They will kill a cotton tail or a "Coon Tail" at that range. I know this not black powder but it may give you some idea. Shooting shot in a rifled barrel is not that good. If you do not use chilled shot the leading is a real pain. :shake:
