Out of a rifled barrel? :hmm: Just talking with my ML buddy about the possibility of using it..If it can be done what would be the type of wads or patching material needed? Thanks

Close range perhaps, not practical for equating smoothbore performance.

One can purchase or load your own snake shot loads for cartridge handguns.
 
So true I use 30-40 Krag casese cut to length, and turn the rims down for .44 Mag. shot shells. I use a .410 shot cup cut to length, with #9 shot. The cases are cut to full chamber length. I use inverted 44 gas checks crimped for over shot. The gas check can be deadly..
After all that work they are only good to about 5 yards in a 4" barrel. In the longer barrels they are of little use. They will kill a cotton tail or a "Coon Tail" at that range. I know this not black powder but it may give you some idea. Shooting shot in a rifled barrel is not that good. If you do not use chilled shot the leading is a real pain. :shake:
