I recently purchased some KIK powder at a local shop, they did not have the ussual goex brand.
Has anyone here used this powder any insight would be appreciated.
I shot it in my jaeger last weekend, it seemed hotter and dirtier than ussual. what do you all think.

Yes, theres a few earlier threads about this powder. I find it to be a very good and accurate powder in my guns.

I use 65grns of KIK 3fff in my .50 cal. I find it to be between Goex and Swiss in power. It's a very clean powder in my book and is very accurate. Bought 10lbs last summer from Powders Inc. 156 dollars and some change. I use spit or Hoppes Black powder lube when at the range. I plan on using it from now on.

I won some a few years back and liked it so well I bought a case! I actually had less deviation with it than goex when I did a chrony test! :idunno: :idunno:

With my 90 gr 3f Kik hunting load I have to put
a patch between the powder & PRB to protect the patch from burn through.

I recently did some research on this subject because my supplier was also out of Goex. What I found was that KIK is actually cleaner than Goex or Swiss but has more fliers than either one of them. I don't think you will have any problems with it and it should clean better than the others BUT accuracy should not be as good as the others.Since Goex should be reaching store shelves soon I decided to wait till it became available again instead of working up new loads for KIK. Thnks all for your input.
I am going to shoot some paper this weekend, so i will see how it does.

I have only burned about a half a lb of 3F Kik. I don't remember anything I would consider "flyers" that wasn't my fault. Most of my time using this powder has been in a .20ga smoothbore and it consistantly threw the balls in a cluster at 5 o'clock on target at 50 yards using my loading. :idunno:

yes i use it here in Germany too but we have only FG and FFFg in Stock. It`s very similar to Swiss but a lot cheaper.
I`ve been very pleased with FG and FFFG in my 45-70 and 44-40 (fffg) but for Muzzeloader i feel that my proved stuff Wano Nr 1 is the better choise. Not fast as KIK but accurate

my 2 cents

Klaus
