Just got my first two Robert Griffing prints back from framing and I can’t wait to get them hung on the wall. Still have another Griffing and a John Buxton to get framed.

Very nice. What are the titles?
The first one is “Uncharted” which depicts Delaware Chief Nemacolin leading Christopher Gist and Thomas Cresap in laying out what was known as “Nemacolin’s Trail” and later became Braddock’s Road. Chief Nemacolin was my 6th Great Grandfather.
The second one is titled “The Winter Trade” a pretty cool depiction of an 18th century trading post.

Thank you.

I was a boy before electricity came in. We lived in the Country and you had kerosene and
candles. That scene reminded me of those times- and the low glowing in a country store.
By 1953 the REA had brought in the one-bulb hanging light deal and the era closed out.

William Lincoln , i am familiar with what you allude too , "the era closed out" . I grew up on my Grandfather's farm , (till i was 15) , with gas lighting and kerosene lanterns in the out- buildings . I also remember when he broke down and installed electricity , and indoor plumbing ! My God , what a life-changing thing that was !! This was outside Zanesville , Ohio in the late 40s and early 50s . I tell my Grand children about "the life" , and they look at me as though i have a third eye in my forehead ! However , that up-bringing gave me my work-ethic , as well as the ability to survive when "it all goes to dogs" !!
