Picked this up last week at a show for $50 and am very happy with it.

Not sure if it is a older 50's-60's repo that aged naturally or if someone helped a newer gun look old, either way I really like the way it looks with the tarnished brass and patina steel.

I wish it had a steel frame but it still looks like it would be right at home tucked in Josey Wales vest pocket :)

The bore and action are in excellent condition.

What I would like is some info on ASM. How do their repos guns compare to other brands? Are they still being made?

thanks

Armi San Marco (ASM) is no longer in business.

In general, which is always a dangerous thing to say, their products were considered to be 'medium' quality. I would put them below Uberti, and the current Pietta, although they were probably the equal of the contemporary Pietta (the Piettas made at the same time ASM was in business).

Such a generalization is of course not applicable to any one gun; some ASM's, such as my Walker, were quite well done, while others were so bad that some people will no longer consider owning an ASM.

To date your ASM; from the forum Articles - Charts - Links section:

Agree with all mykeal said about ASM's.

The frame looks like color case hardened steel in your photo; not brass... you might try a magnet on the frame.

Good deal you got at the show. Have fun with it.
