Yup, but it still is a mighty pretty gun.
For $300 I could force myself to overlook the front sight (get it? over look??)?
Boooohahahahahaha! Overloo...Baahahahahaha.

I think it's on backwards also... Seems to me the last time we dicussed the Austin Halleck rifle, someone posted a picture and I thought that front sight was backwards too... I wouldn't swear to it, but??? :: Yes, I found the other picture which is probably the same picture. It was in the "Flintlock" section, under; A@H Mountain Rifle...

See, they put the front sight on backwards at the factory so as the deer think the muzzleloader is pointing the other way, clever... :winking: :haha:

For 300 bucks it's a STEAL!!! Buy it or at least let someone here have a shot at it. (get it.."shot" at it.)
Bawwwwwwwwwwwwwww-hawwwwwwwwwwwww, harrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, heeee, heeeee, choke, snikers, boooooooohawwwwwwwwwww.
Man I really really crack me up! :: :haha: :haha:
(O.K. it's musketman's fault, He started this pun thing.)

Reminds me of a joke posted in one of the National Association of Primitive Riflemen magazines with a newcommer asking one of the flint-rifle toting blokes " Do you shoot Thompson Centre's here?" the primitive-type, said "Shore- jest hold 'er like so" - steps off and puts a ball though the stock - well, I thought it was funny, but attracted lots of flack. The main distain was caused by TC calling it a Hawken and some thought if it was called a Hawken, it should closely resemble one instead of using the name to sell guns that didn't. Now, I suppose THAT will start it all over again - not necessary. They serve a purpose and that's a relatively cheap ML to get someone started. I started with one myself and so'd my Bro. They got us smitten with the BP disease.

Amen to that. My first four m/l'ers were T/C - and I still shoot the two I still own frequently. Even a *gag* in-line isn't so deplorable if it gets a body interested in muzzleloading. They may put another pilgrim on the journey to the past. It's the non-blackpowder propellents that worry me. How you gonna learn and grow if you aren't breathin in all that healthy sulphur and soot? I'm pretty sure I never would care much about history if alls I had was Pyrodex and Triple 7 coursing through my bloodstream.

Never trust a gun that hides its hammer. Underhanded subterfuge and deceptive skullduggery!

I would bet my best flint Roundball hasn't seen this post yet. Rocky /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
