:surrender: :surrender: Well the Eastern is history for another year. There were some problems , but also some very big blessings. I had contacted the Bushway, Dave Guy about the possibility of a benefit auction of "Whitetail's " camp since he had died this spring and his grandaughter was severly burned in an ATV accident.Dave was in favor but needed foundation approval for the auction. When I arrived at the site I contacted the legal advisor Joe, and the foundation head, Allen and they approved of the auction and offered the seminar tent for the auction. So many buckskinners donated , items and time to help it truely overwhelmed me. The good lord even sent a auctioneer to help. With Wanda and Albby helping along with Kentucky Wayne, Tim and several others we managed to raise over 1800 dollars. I cannot name all of the buckskinners and venders who help-ed.But I want to thank them all. It proved that buckskinners are just one big family. I would like to give a great big thankyou to "wolfie" from Canada who donated a large marquee tent that brought in $500. That is one large donation from a man who did not even know the family personally. The Living History foundation deserves a big Thank You. Ramrod

Ramrod,
Our family left on Tuesday. Had to go back to work and school. Had a great time though. The main issues we had was the lack of fire wood and a not so interesting firing range. With the wood, we had people coming from different areas of the camp and taking wood from our pile. Then when ever a new delivery was dropped off, it was gone in 3 min. As for the firing range, I didn't get a chance to shoot. But I did watch a few guys shoot. I was unimpressed with the range set up at the Eastern. I enjoyed the range the Old North West had much better. Oh well. The wife and I are already prepairing for next year in PA.

We got back last night - got there around 4:45pm on thursday before it started and stayed till the end on saturday (then there was a wreck on I-77 South that had it closed down for hours - we stayed overnight in Newcomerstown and drove home at our leisure yesterday). We camped near the back gate - it was filled in all the way back by the time we got there. We had great neighbors - the folks from Canada behind us sure did some great guitar picking and singing!

We had a great time! My nephew joined us from Saturday through Thursday. He put considerable wear on the hawk and khife block. Lots of good traders - got some good plunder. Ate real good - the missus outdid herself with the dutch oven treats and lots of critter flesh was roasted and et.

Firewood was a bit scarce at times but after everyone pretty much left saturday there was some firewood left at camps and in the piles. I also saw one truck leaving hauling a trailer pickup with his bed piled up with firewood??? I sure appreciated the strips they provided for kindling. We thought the folks running the show did a great job and the camp showed alot of good preparation. The wood chips inside the hooter areas kept the mud to a minimum. The showers were a great perk (and were close for us).

Thanks to everbody who worked so hard to put this year's EPR on for us! We are indebted to you!
