Bag Knife Project - Tang Too Short?

Also, anyone have any advice on what kind of sheath would be good for something like this? I'm thinking about making quite a few more and honing my skills on one type of knife instead of constantly making every random style of blade I see. I'd like to improve my leather working with each one too.

Would a center seam sheath be appropriate? Also, would it be inappropriate to have some kind of belt loop? I don't know why but I feel like that's a more of a modern thing perhaps? I know the knife I made isn't exactly period correct in some ways but I don't want to make anything really out of place sheath wise either.
 
I love center seam sheaths! I think that a center seam would look great on that knife. As to a belt loop, punch two holes in the top on either side of the seam, put a thong through it, and tie it to the belt or sash. I guess it depends what time period you're planning to use it for and how HC you want to be.
