It's me again, I miked the bore of my new musket and it is .73 rather than .75.
Would you use a .70 ball?
Thanks again,
Jerry

I found that a .690 rd ball with a thick denim patch fit ok in the Pedersoli Bess carbine. And Lee makes a .690 mould that you can get from Midsouth for around $17.

Depends how you are going to shot it and how accurate you want to be...

The service load was a 69 cal ball, but today's shooters are known to find a tight ball/patch combo to shoot tighter groups at 25- 50 yards... i.e. .730 or .735....

If you are planing on paper cartridge load that reproduce a service load, then a .690 ball is want you want.

Cheers,

DT
